Maozhou Island

Isolated and quiet in the middle of the Li River and opposite ancient Daxu Village, Maozhou Island has only 0.6 k?O of land to give to her residents for dwelling and farming.

The whole island is covered by evergreen vegetation----lovers' bamboo, pomelo and orange trees and vegetables, with small houses merged in between. The island dwellers eat gourd as a gourment food, and every family grows gourd around their houses, so it is also called the Gourd Island.

Villagers on the small island still live a simple life by farming and fishing. With great courtesy and hospitality, they have special food and nice clean guest rooms to entertain the visitors.
