Guilin Travel
To Yangshuo And Li River Cruise Boat Trip
We
left Beijing and headed for Guilin. We were luck
as we meet four friends from Shanghai (one of
which is ending a 4 weeks journey around China,
in fact, he is doing the exact opposite route
we were taking). Together we take the turbo jet
to Shanghai and then board a flight to Guilin.
Our original plan was to take bus to Yangshuo,
we change it to stay in Guilin for one night so
we can see the well-known parks and caves and
then take a boat down the Li
River Cruise to Yangshuo. We also meet five
tourists from Macao who accompany us in our Guilin
city tour. I stayed with them for 2 days while
trave Guilin (bamboo boat ride, caves, hiking,
etc.).
The third day, we depart Guilin
and take the boat to Yangshuo. I stike up a conversation
with a Shanghai women and she immediatly becomes
one of our party which is great as she know Guilin
very well. The boat ride is impressive as I catch
wonderful scenery of mountains in the distance
and waterbuffalo cool off in the river. One hour
later, our boat began to slow and others passed
us, several boats passes us by. We were stopped
and baking in the midday sun. Our luck runs out
as our boat breaks down and we have to stop in
the middle of the Li river. It is 36 degrees with
lots of humidity. We pass the time on the top
of the boat playing games. 30 minutes later, the
engines start and we are saved. The rest of the
three hour boat ride floats by uneventful. What
a great Guilin
travel!
